Job Summary

Serving Workers for the Harvest (SWHarvest) is seeking a passionate and experienced Ministry Fundraiser to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that fuels global gospel initiatives. This role will focus on building an annual fund program, stewarding general donors, cultivating major donor relationships, writing grants, and fostering a culture of global partnerships.


Spiritual Qualifications

  • Maintains a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as a baptized believer.
  • Possesses a passion to see people come to faith in Jesus Christ in all nations and can clearly present the Gospel.
  • Believes in the mission and vision of SWHarvest.
  • Agrees with and lives by the doctrinal convictions in the Serving Workers for the Harvest Statement of Faith.
  • Demonstrates integrity, humility, resilience, and a servant’s heart (1 Timothy 3; Proverbs 31).

Education & Experience

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit or ministry setting, with a proven track record of securing major gifts.
  • Preferred: Grant writing experience with successful funding from foundations.
  • Essential: Experience with annual giving programs, donor segmentation, and CRM systems—or the ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Development

  • Develop and execute an annual fund program, including direct mail, digital fundraising, and donor appreciation strategies.
  • Steward a portfolio of general donors with timely follow-up, updates, and engagement.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors and foundations for significant gifts.
  • Plan and oversee fundraising events, donor gatherings, and mission engagement opportunities.
  • Research and write compelling grant proposals to secure funding.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Craft compelling storytelling strategies that highlight the impact of SWHarvest’s global work.
  • Build authentic, lasting relationships with donors.
  • Develop and implement recognition and retention strategies to sustain donor support.

Global Partnership Cultivation

  • Serve as a bridge between SWHarvest’s mission field and donor community.
  • Equip churches, businesses, and individuals with opportunities to support global gospel advancement.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and field partners to connect financial support with tangible kingdom impact.

Global Teams Support

  • Conduct fundraising training and workshops for ministry leaders.
  • Provide personalized coaching for campaigns and fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and distribute fundraising resources and tools.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of CRM tools for SWHarvestarvest Ministries and Global Teams.
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices among global partners.

Strategy & Reporting

  • Track fundraising performance and donor engagement through CRM/database systems.
  • Contribute to annual fundraising goal setting aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Analyze donor trends and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.

Compensation

SWHarvest employees are deputized to raise funds for their position by cultivating partnerships with churches, individuals, and organizations. Compensation is tied to an approved budget that includes both personal and ministry expenses.

SWHarvest provides training, coaching, and support throughout the fundraising process to ensure success.
