Job Summary
The Theological Resource Trainer provides spiritual leadership and guidance to new servant-leaders. This role involves developing theological curriculum, sharing scriptural knowledge, and equipping missionaries and partner ministries to serve their communities effectively. The position requires a deep commitment to advancing the Gospel, strong teaching abilities, and a willingness to travel frequently.
Spiritual Qualifications
- Maintains a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as a baptized believer
- Possesses a passion for seeing people come to faith in Jesus Christ in all nations, with the ability to present the Gospel clearly and concisely
- Believes in the mission and vision of SWHarvest
- Agrees with and lives by the doctrinal convictions set forth in the Serving Workers for the Harvest Statement of Faith
- Demonstrates integrity, humility, resilience, and a servant’s heart (1 Timothy 3; Proverbs 31)
- Possesses a deep understanding of Scripture and church doctrine for effective teaching and mentoring
Education & Experience
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Formal theological training (Bible school or seminary-level)
- Preferred: At least five years of full-time ministry experience, ideally in a cross-cultural context

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
- Develop and deliver theological training materials aligned with SWHarvest’s mission, vision, and statement of faith
- Create curriculum covering biblical doctrines, practical ministry skills, and cross-cultural considerations
- Participate in creating online resources and training platforms
Training & Mentorship
- Teach and mentor servant-leaders in effective ministry practices, rooted in Scripture and doctrine
- Build and lead a team of theological trainers for cross-cultural biblical and doctrinal training
- Provide spiritual guidance, answering theological questions with grace and patience
- Prepare missionaries and partners for cross-cultural engagement with cultural sensitivity and adaptability
- Encourage self-reliant discipleship approaches that empower local churches
Support & Encouragement
- Offer ongoing support to missionaries and partner ministries, helping them overcome challenges
- Share personal testimony to inspire and strengthen others in their calling
- Coach missionaries in building effective community relationships that lead to church planting and growth
- Promote a passionate commitment to advancing the Gospel globally
General
- Collaborate with SWHarvest staff to achieve organizational goals of reaching, discipling, and multiplying the kingdom of Christ
- Provide ministry updates and reports as appropriate to organizational leadership and supporters
Compensation
SWHarvest employees raise financial support through partnerships with churches, individuals, and organizations. Compensation is based on an approved budget that covers both personal and ministry expenses. To ensure success, SWHarvest provides comprehensive training, coaching, and support throughout the fundraising process.
