Serving Workers for the Harvest (SWHarvest) is proud to highlight the work of our global team members at the Church of Pakistan Lahore Diocesan Council (COPLDC). Their commitment to training future ministers is a powerful example of faithful stewardship and strategic preparation for the harvest. We celebrate a significant milestone with them: the Lahore Diocesan Theological College (LDTC) has recently entered the third term of its academic year. This new chapter began with a spirit of joy and purpose, setting a hopeful tone for the journey ahead.
Students and faculty at LDTC began their third term with a special Thanksgiving and Holy Communion service at the historic Cathedral Church. The atmosphere was one of deep gratitude and anticipation as they sought God’s blessing and guidance. The principal welcomed the students, encouraging them to persevere as they near the completion of their first year of theological studies. The shared prayers and communion service were a powerful reminder of the unity and spiritual dependence that are central to theological formation.

The Lahore Diocesan Theological College is currently home to six dedicated students, who are guided by a team of committed volunteer faculty members. Located near the historic Cathedral, the college’s life together reflects the rich heritage of the Church of Pakistan. Even without a dedicated classroom building, they have fostered a vibrant and enriching learning environment where scholarship, faith, and fellowship flourish side by side.
Following the service, the community gathered for an agape meal in the college library—a space that also serves as their primary classroom. This simple yet profound act of sharing strengthened bonds and offered a glimpse into the heart of life at LDTC. It served as a powerful reminder that theological education is about more than just books and lectures; it is shaped through shared meals, meaningful conversation, and a spirit of togetherness.
The commitment of COPLDC to theological education is unwavering, even with limited resources. The volunteer faculty, students, and church leaders continue to cultivate an inspiring space for growth. LDTC stands as a living testament to resilience and hope, embodying the truth that God’s work continues to flourish even in the face of challenges. Their dedication ensures that a new generation of leaders is being equipped to serve the Church with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Through prayer, perseverance, and strong community, the Lahore Diocesan Theological College is pressing forward, equipping future ministers for the mission of the Church. SWHarvest is honored to stand with COPLDC in this vital work. The students and faculty at LDTC are truly serving workers for the harvest, preparing to carry the Gospel forward in their communities and beyond.
