Ministry Purpose
Soli Deo Gloria is a church based ministry in Ukraine. God put a care for this country into the heart of Daniel when he was still a child. Together with Priscilla and their 17-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, they joyfully serve Christ there.
In the course of time, and by God's grace, a small group of people grew into what is now Rzhyshchiv Evangelical Church. Our greatest joy is to see people become born again and be transformed by Christ, discovering the joy of growing like Him and then living for His glory.
Ministries
Rzhyshchiv Church - We shepherd this community of 70+ believers and seekers, sharing the Gospel, preaching God’s word, discipling believers and doing what we can to alleviate suffering during this period of war. This church has an active women’s ministry, youth group, ministry to children from crisis families, rehabilitation program for men, and a kindergarten three mornings a week.
Rehabilitation Ministry - We currently operate 3 rehab homes for men struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. Their daily lives are focused around the Bible, read and studied and applied 3-4 times each day. This pain this ministry has caused us has been intense. But the rewards have given us intense joy. God works in humble hearts.
“War” Ministry
- Rebuilding – We’ve been travelling weekly to help rebuild in areas that saw Russian occupation. In Novy Bikiv, a group of about 20 people gather regularly now to hear and study the Scriptures. Praise the LORD!
- Refugee/Displaced Persons Ministry - We house refugees in our (Dan & Priscilla’s) home as well as at the church. Currently, we house 20 refugees and are expecting more. This provides many opportunities to share Christ and disciple. It is also wonderfully challenging on a personal level to love and work with them.
- Preparing for winter - The constant bombardment by missiles has seriously affected life. Currently, we frequently have 11 hours or more in the daytime without electricity. This affects heating and water supply, cooking, internet and phone connections. We are doing what we can to help people by providing food packages, generators or battery packs, wood, and other necessities. We cry out for wisdom from God because the needs are changing as the country becomes more damaged and winter has arrived. We are deeply grateful to those who pray and care and have given to enable us to do what we have thus far.
- We would like to make up Christmas packages, perhaps with a practical 'war gift' (such as a thermos or small solar lamp...), etc, as well as some cheese, meat, eggs, etc....
- Most of all we pray that this great suffering will turn people to seek the living God and worship Him with their lives.
"...Christ in you, the hope of glory. HIM we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ." Col. 1:27-29
